Chinese New Year.

The best known in China as the Spring Festival or Chinese New Year Lunar New Year is the most important traditional festival of the Chinese calendar year .
The celebrations begin on the first day of the first lunar month and ends on the fifteenth , when the Lantern Festival is celebrated. On February 10-2013 began the year 4711 according to the Chinese calendar. Next year begins on January 31-2014 (the year 4712 ) .
The New Year's Eve , the equivalent of the western New Year is called in Chinese " chuxi "

Traditions :

- The "red envelope" , also called Lai See, involves delivering children or younger relatives of a red envelope containing a small amount of money.

- God of wealth, this is presented with a beard and wearing a red robe and a yellow sack on his back . It comes in the houses and split images , the inhabitants of the houses they give tips to this figure, all accompanied by drums and gongs.

Wu - Shi Lion Dance and or " Wu Long" or " Dragon Dance " , preserved from ancient times, originating from the martial arts and used to ward off evil spirits.

  2. Alba and Anna, if want to witness or participate in this events, you don't need to go to China. The Chinese community organises public celebrations in different European cities. I'm not sure about Spain, but the Chinese New Year is an important festival is London, for example.
